Update: Man In 'Grave' Condition After Apartment Blaze In Westchester County

Two residents were hospitalized after a fast-moving fire tore through a Westchester County apartment building, leaving one man critically injured.

The fire started on Thursday, Jan. 19 around 4:20 p.m. in Yonkers at a four-story residential apartment building at 21 Mulberry St., according to Yonkers Police Public Information Officer Yonkers PIO Dean Politopoulos. 

As a result of the blaze, a 68-year-old man and an 85-year-old woman were taken to a local hospital. The man was listed in "grave" condition and the woman was in stable condition, police said.

More residents of the apartment building were taken to The Westchester School, where they were given help by the Red Cross and the city's Office of Emergency Management.

Traffic in the area was greatly affected by the fire.

More information is expected to be released by police.
